PEPPER DRIED CHIPOTLE

Chipotle peppers are a type of smoked jalapeño pepper, dried and rehydrated before use, that adds a unique smoky and slightly sweet flavor to dishes. They are a popular ingredient in Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine and have a moderate level of heat at 5,000-10,000 Scoville units. Dried chipotle peppers are wrinkled and leathery and can be rehydrated, chopped or ground for use in marinades, sauces, stews, chili and barbecue sauces, dips and rubs.
