The Groff family is a part of a four-generation tradition of farming their 300+ acres in a unique way. Their strict no-till farming practices keep soil out of the Chesapeake Bay, protecting the local ecosystem and resulting in rich, nutrient-dense soil. They are also committed to utilizing cover crops, which allows them to fertilize soil, suppress weeds, and impede pests – all things that might otherwise require harmful chemicals like fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. They take immense pride in helping other farms apply these techniques to grow vegetables with higher nutritional density. This success makes Cedar Meadow a leader in regenerative agriculture.
