The business began in 1870 by George Cassaday’s great-great grandfather. Originally it was a small family farm consisting of chickens, eggs, and hay to sustain the Cassaday family’s needs. The farm later grew to include fruits and vegetables that were marketed to Cassaday customers.
Now, over 130 years later, Cassaday Farms runs on four generations of grassroots knowledge and locally grown goodness. Since taking the reins of the family business, George has been offering the best of NJ harvest year after year, with outstanding fresh quality that is hard to match.
Cassaday’s product line includes just about everything a New Jersey climate allows. Here is a list of their products broken down into monthly availability: squash, zucchini, and red & green cabbage (June-October); turnips (June-November); tomatoes (Late July-September), cucumbers (Late June-September); watermelons & cantaloupe (July-August); sweet corn & pickles (July-September); peppers & eggplant (July-October); Acorn & Butternut Squash (July-November).
